Offshore Technology Centre (OTC)

5 May 2010, Wednesday

KIKEH, 1st Deep Water Project in Malaysia

- Today, we had an internal meeting for the upcoming project, Offshore Technology Centre (OTC) which is going to be constructed at KKTM Kemaman.

- This project will cost around RM15mil and it will give more focus towards developing deep water facilities (>200m water depth).

- From our point of view, this project will be really beneficial to Malaysia since our nation is quite new in this technology with KIKEH became its first project; and will be followed by MALIKAI & KEMBANGAN in the near future.

- We would like to construct an actual mode of deep water facilities since we are also planning to involve testing and research in this project.

- Subject Matter Experts (SME) suggested that it might be useful for us to propose this project to the Malaysian government and ask for their support in terms of investment since this project is going to benefit the nation with the biggest investment and also deal with the nation's biggest investor.

- MD had said that he will take full responsibility on this matter and will be dealing with MOGEC and MOGSC to ask for opinions and investment for this project.
